Associate degrees, majors and certificates:

Diabo Valley College offers associate degrees in arts and science. These degrees offer students specific general education requirements, major requirements and elective opportunities.

The goals of the associate degrees are:

  • the development of college-level skills,
  • the acquisition of basic principles in the major diciplines and methods of discovery and problem solving,
  • the formation of insights from several disciplines in order to make better-informed decisions,
  • an appreciation of our multicultural heritage,
  • an understanding of the values we hold so that we may use them to examine and guide our life choices.

Offering more than 60 career and technical certificates, DVC provides students with the educational background and training they need to achieve their career goals. By completing a career/technical program, students can show employers that they have acquired the most appropriate and up-to-date skills.  DVC's excellent reputation is a distinct advantage to our students as they compete in today's demanding job market.

Most certificate programs require less than two years of full-time study to complete and many programs may be completed on a part-time basis. In some cases, courses completed in a certificate program can be applied to a degree program.
