Steve Ward, DVC Athletic Hall of Fame Founder and Chairperson, announces voting for the 2010 Induction class are:  Charlotte Wiley, Cesar Medina, Laura Mann, John Green, Mark Cook, La La Del Barco Wing, Mike Emry.  The fifth induction ceremony will be in early February 2010 at the Norseman Restaurant on Campus.


2010 INDUCTEES
CHARLOTTE WILEY:
Arguably the greatest female athlete in CCCCD history.
1988 DVC Softball (3B/SS). Nor-Cal and All-American selection.  Player of the Year; led DVC to GGC title.  1988 All-NorCal and All-American selection.  Set All-Time DVC record with Conference Batting Average of .897.  Two-time Bay Valley Conference Women's Basketball MVP; 1987-88 and 1988-89.  Led CCC to State Championships in 1988-89.  Averaged over 20 PPG and 1st Team All-State both years.  Only female in District history to win MVP's in two different conferences in same academic year 1987-88. Softball scholarship to CSU-Fullerton, led Titans in hitting in 1990 and Home Runs in 1991.  Played final college softball season at Cal State East Bay (.478 BA) leading CSEB to Divisiion II Nat'l runner-up finish.  Set single season school records for Hits (77), RBI (56) and Home Runs (9).  Following college, played for two professional Women's Baseball teams:  Played for the USA Softball Team in 1992 in Beijing and Japan:  Colorado Silver Bullets and Alameda Oaks (.567 BA) of CA Women's Baseball League.
JOHN GREEN
High scoring DVC Men's Basketball star in 1975-76 and 1976-77.  Led Golden Gate Conference in scoring (1975-76) with 18 PPG, earning All-Conference honors.  In 1976-77 averaged 17.6 PPG.  Averaged a "double-double" both years at DVC.  Scholarship to UC-Riverside, led Highlanders in both scoring and rebounding.  Senior year named 1st Team All-Conference and All-Section.  NBA 5th round draft pick by New York Knicks in 1979.
MARK COOK
All-Around Gymnastics standout at DVC from 1972-74.  Finished 3rd in Floor Exercise at State Championships in 1974.  Gymnast and graduated at Chico State.  Asst. Coach (1997) at UCLA, Bruins win NCAA Championship.  Head Gymnastics Coach at Stanford (1997-2001), led Cardinals to two Pac-10 titles, 1998 &2001.  Pac-10 Coach of the Year in 2001.  Co-Head Coach at University of Arkansas, 2003-2009; three team NCAA appearances.  2008 SEC Co-Head Coach of the Year (with wife Rene Cook).  2009 Arkansas team set school record for most All-Americans.
MARIANELA "LA LA" DEL BARCO WING
DVC's Women's Volleyball superstar who earned First Team All-GGC, All Nor-Cal and All-American honors in both 1988 and 1989.  Golden Gate Conference MVP (1988) leading Vikings to GGC title.  Transfer to Fresno Pacific University; All-Golden State Athletic Conference selections in both 1990 and 1991.  NAIA 1st Team All-American in 1991.  Graduated from Fresno Pacific University magna cum laude.
CESAR MEDINA
DVC Baseball star third baseman in 1989 and 1990.  First ever Nor-Cal Big Stick recipient from DVC in 1989.  in 1989, led state in Hits (79), earning 1st Team All-Golden Gate Conference and All-American honors.  Set All-Time DVC record for Conference Batting Average (.474) leading DVC to 1989 GGC title.  Overall career Batting Average at DVC, .376.  Transfer to Sonoma State (1991-92), set school record for most Doubles.  1992 NCAC Player of the Year.  Selected to DVC's All Half-Century Baseball Team.
MIKE EMRY
All-State Cross Country and Distance Track star at DVC, 1974-1976.  Graduated from DVC with many school records including:  2 mile; 3 mile; 3,000M; 5,000M and 10,000M marks.  Competed in both Cross Country and Track and graduated from UC-Davis (1976-1978).  All-Conference selection all four years in college in Cross Country.  1978 Division II Track All-American and 10,000 Meter Champion in the Far Western Conference.
LAURA MANN
Women's Soccer greatest Goalkeeper in DVC history.  Earned all Bay Valley Conference and All Nor-Cal honors in both 2000 and 2001.  BVC Defensive Most Valuable Player in 2001, recording eight shut-outs in fifteen games.  Defensive MVP for Nighthawks (semi-pro soccer league) in 2002.  Earned B.S. degree in Industiral Psychology.  Becomes 1st ever Women's Soccer player inducted into DVC's Athletic Hall of Fame.
